NEastPhilly.com is a community news site and online magazine for Northeast Philadelphia that launched November 2008 and is maintained by a collection of local residents. It offers daily news, analysis, multimedia, columns and commentary on everything that interests the proud, working-class neighborhoods of Northeast Philadelphia. It is also the home of NEast magazine, a print quarterly scheduled to begin publication in spring 2010.
NEast Magazine is a different kind of magazine. NEast Magazine will focus on the heart and soul of Philadelphia – the Northeast. Our city’s hardworking middle class people need a magazine just for them.

NEast is for the police officer who grew up in Philadelphia, went to North Catholic High School and wants his kids to do the same. NEast is for the Mom who works a part time job while her kids are in school to make ends meet. NEast is for the cheerleader at Washington High School who likes to read magazines after school. NEast Magazine is for every Northeast Philadelphian who wants to read a magazine about their part of the city.
The idea for NEast Magazine started when founder Shannon McDonald began her journalism career at Temple University in 2005. Now a fully operational online magazine on NEastPhilly.com, NEast Magazine is set to launch its first print product in spring 2010. With the help of dedicated friends and talented journalists, NEast Magazine will transition from an online-only publication to a glossy quarterly magazine
